Interested in writing for a fashion psychology magazine?
Are you currently studying, have a degree in fashion, psychology, or a related field, or simply love exploring the connection between what we wear and how we think, feel, and behave? (Don’t worry if you don’t have a degree—a genuine passion for the subject is OK.)
Would you love to write for a UK-based independent online magazine dedicated to fashion psychology?
If so, Psychology, But Make It Fashion® is looking for contributors to pitch original articles for our global audience. Whether your interest is enclothed cognition, the psychology of sustainable fashion, clothing brands you admire, or how style shapes identity, we want to provide a platform for your voice. We’re excited to potentially feature your work.
Submission Guidelines
Your pitch and final article need to be:
Academic and research-backed: We value empirical science, not just vibes. Articles should meaningfully engage with peer-reviewed psychological research, concepts, or theories, with at least one appropriate citation to support the ideas discussed.
Original: To keep our mag real, AI-generated content is a definite no-no. We want to hear your unique voice. Many submissions are unfortunately rejected due to clear AI usage.
Fun to read: Please don’t be afraid to adopt a conversational, relatable, and chatty tone! We want you to talk passionately, like you’re sharing a favourite topic with a friend (while still getting your point across clearly). Use ‘I’, use slang, talk to an audience! Express your personality.
How to Apply: Please complete the form below with your details, background, and a brief pitch of your article idea. Final articles must be at least 750 words and will undergo a collaborative editorial process prior to publication.
Full disclosure: Psychology, But Make It Fashion® is an independent publication, so writing slots are currently unpaid. What we do offer is a platform for your voice—In return for your contribution, every published article features your author bio and links to your portfolio, website, and/or social media. We receive a high number of submissions each week, but we personally read and respond to every one. ♡
